2nd pick: #5 (Hercalitus) (2-1) - One of the pair that have raced, he finished third at Del Mar going 5.5 furlongs for a $40K claiming price Aug. 14. He's shown early speed in both attempts and his connections drop him down a bit for this assignment. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Carpe Noctem) (3-1) - The other with experience, he tired badly when debuting against tougher Aug. 21 at Del Mar. Colt worked fast there Aug. 31, is taking a big drop in price, and he must be left in the mix.
