2nd pick: #1 (Vermeer) (3-1) - The field's most experienced maiden, he has early speed, breaks from the rail, and has finished third in three of his last four starts. 3yo by 'Malibu Moon' is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Floyd Moneymaker) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he chased while wide before weakening a bit to finish third going 6 furlongs for a $20K tag Aug. 24 at Del Mar. Only his 2nd start, it was his first since checking in second at Portland Meadows when debuting Feb. 5. An obvious contender, but at a short price.
4th pick: #7 (Truest Reward) (6-1) - The second of the pair from trainer Luis Mendez, he appears to have worked in tandem with barn-mate 'Agent Zero' Sept. 15 and they finished on equal terms. A $50K purchase, gelding by 'Yes It's True' must be left under consideration.
