Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (AWESOME OCEAN) (2-1) - He's shown sharp early speed before tiring in his first pair facing much tougher. Small barn has him taking a much needed drop into claimers and it's a plus that Edwin Maldanado is back on the re-ride.
2nd pick: #1 (True Deja Vu) (5-2) - NEW gelding is working sharply here for his first start since late August. In a good barn (Marty Jones) that's having a sub-par year, he breaks from the rail and is a strong win candidate if he runs to his a.m drills.
3rd pick: #8 (Our Trooper) (6-1) - Veteran maiden has been on the shelf since checking in 4th of 10, beaten just under five lengths racing here at this tag and trip Sept 10. Stretch runner would be especially dangerous if a fast and/or contested pace were to develop.
4th pick: #2 (Del Grotto) (8-1) - The only debuting maiden, he has some good works showing over at San Luis Rey Downs. Three-year-old need not be anything special to factor first out against this field.
