(# 1) JOSE - Scott Lake trainee is fresh and fast. Claimed for bargain price of $7500 last November at Charles Town, was given about two months off and when returned to the races won $25,000 optional claimer at same track. Races for the first time ever at Laurel but draws the rail in five furlong dash which certainly fits well within his range. Only about a one furlong run to the turn and he'll prove tough to catch. He's been able to stretch his speed to six furlongs on many occasions so five shouldn't pose a problem. Side bar is that he still runs at age 6 without having been gelded,strange in this day and age but that fact hasn't prevented him from being a fine race-horse.
