Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #14 (WHISKY MAN) (10-1) - This longshot stretches out a furlong while taking a big drop in class. He rallied to miss by almost five lengths going six furlongs while facing tougher at Churchill May 17 in his first race since early October. The no speed type faces a weak group, and I think he can run them down in the final 1/8th of a mile.
2nd pick: #1 (Second Line David) (6-1) - A NEW gelding, he tired while wide going two-turns at Churchill for a $30K tag on May 28. He drops a bit, moves to a ground-saving post, and has more early speed than most.
3rd pick: #3 (Carolina Airness) (8-1) - He drops into a claimer for the first time and is racing with blinkers on today. His first start at the Fair Grounds March 13 was encouraging, but his follow up May 23 at Churchill was poor. Trainer Al Stall, Jr. has won with five of 18 (28%) on this particular drop, and this colt must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Boss Life) (6-1) - He tired while extremely wide when going two-turns at Churchill May 28 after showing some ability in his previous pair. He drops to a new low, shortens up, and is capable of factoring.
5th pick: #10 (Naughty Prince) (7-2) - The only debuting runner, he's working steadily for Wesley Ward, 42 of 147 (29%) first out in 2019-20. In the mix, but he'll probably be over-bet a bit.
