Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (GAMBLER'S CHOICE) (3-1) - Lightly-raced colt has been freshened up since he tired following a bumping incident facing tougher at Ellis Park. The 3yo takes a big drop in claiming price ($30,000 to $15K )and trainer Ed Kenneally had him breeze an above average half-mile Oct. 10 at Churchill Downs. This $75,000 purchase gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #12 (Gasaway) (5-2) - Gelding has been on the sidelines since Feb. 17 when he tired facing tougher going 8.5 furlongs on the turf at Tampa Bay Downs. He had been competitive in a pair of dirt sprints there prior to that and 4yo is a strong factor if ready.
3rd pick: #10 (Hours Truly) (5-1) - Home bred 3yo just missed sprinting on the Ellis Park turf against weaker Sept. 3. Even paced on the dirt when facing tougher, he's a late threat with Calvin Borel staying aboard.
4th pick: #7 (Civil) (6-1) - NEW gelding races with blinkers on in his first following a Tracey Glover claim, 2 for her last 3 (67%). Lightly raced 4yo was competitive in three straight at Ellis Park and he has more early speed than the majority entered.
