2nd pick: #10 (Rio Bueno) (3-1) - Nicely bred 3yo ships from Indiana Downs where he finished 3rd of 10, beaten 2.5 lengths going a mile on the grass Sept. 21 for a $32,000 claiming price. It was a fine debut and this afternoon trainer Brad Cox (21% 2nd time out) moves him from turf to dirt (29%) and adds blinkers (19%). Gelding by 'Smart Strike' is dangerous if able to avoid a wide trip from his outside post.
3rd pick: #12 (El Mas Puro) (5-1) - Speedy colt is taking a big drop in price while stretching out in distance. $150K purchase looks like the main speed and is a strong win candidate with Luis Saez aboard for the first time.
4th pick: #6 (Alexandros) (8-1) - Colt tired after setting a quick and pressured pace when finishing 7.5 lengths behind 'Fault Line' at Churchill Sept. 23. He may hold down a minor award but would need a career-best for anything more than that.
