However, he's finished second in two of three starts on the dirt and did so here going 8.5 furlongs for a $30K tag April 15. It was his first back off an eight week break, first in a claimer, and he wore blinkers that afternoon. Son of 'Dynaformer' gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Midnight Dance) (3-1) - Gulfstream shipper is moving up a bit in class and is switching from turf to dirt. Ramsey home bred finished second on the Gulfstream main track going a mile facing weaker March 17. Speed/stalker fits and trainer Mike Maker has Javier Castellano aboard. The pair have won with 40 of 165 (24%) when teamed up over the past 16.5-months.
3rd pick: #5 (It's All Copacetic) (9-2) - Grey colt has no early speed but is the type that can 'run all day' without blowing out a match. He's rallied to finish within range in three of his last four starts and should relish this 1 1/8th mile distance.
