Top pick: #9 (MOTION PLAY) - Gelding takes a big drop in price and goes turf to "poly" for the Lesley Ward barn. In excellent shape at present, and the big drop is a bit suspicious, but they've done well with this runner since claiming him and he's a high-risk runner to be claimed again. Has previous experience here and will be very tough to beat in this spot.
2nd pick: #3 (Wait on Tate) - Veteran raced evenly here Oct. 9 facing a bit tougher in his first back off almost a four month break. Has some back class and fits nicely here if he moves forward in the second back off the layoff.
3rd pick: #2 (Tax and Spend) - Races second off a 70 day break following a Eric Reed claim. Veteran gelding raced evenly here Oct. 8 and did so despite a poor start. Trainer is above average, second off the rest (21%) and he also removes this runner's blinkers this afternoon. Has back class and should run well against this overall poor lot.
