Top pick: #11 (SEAL SIX) (4-1) - Home-bred by "Tiznow" makes his 3-year-old debut off a 5 1/2 month layoff and has some impressive works leading up to his return. Colt ran third here when debuting on Oct. 13 and can take this if ready.
nd pick: #12 (Buck Magic) (6-1) - He ships up from Gulfstream where he tired in a series of starts this past winter racing on the dirt. Son of "Broken Vow" ran well here last October and has been working sharply since returning to Keeneland.
rd pick: #10 (Commandment) (3-1) - $200K son of "Sky Mesa" has been competitive in three of five starts on the dirt and will be racing on a synthetic surface for the first time. He ships from Oaklawn in shape and probably has been facing tougher fields than this.
th pick: #6 (Bird Tap) (5-1) - Whitney home-bred has broken slowly in both starts, but last out was only beaten two lengths going two-turns on the Gulfstream turf. He's worked three times at Churchill since shipping north and all have been above average. Don't just dismiss.
th pick: #3 (Hot Hot Heat) (12-1) - Longshot is in an underrated barn (Al Stall Jr.) and this colt by "Pulpit" tired while racing very wide when debuting in a grass sprint at the Fair Grounds Jan. 19. Working nicely for this and Stall wins at a 21% rate second time out.
