Premium Pick

Top pick: #11 (FLAX) (7-2) - Filly has shown good early speed in both of her starts and has been freshened up since Feb. 24. Trainer Ken McPeek runs her on a synthetic surface for the first time and he had her work sharply here on April 6th.

2nd pick: #12 (Ol Donyo) (5-1) - Well-backed when debuting in early Sept. on the Belmont grass, she tired after chasing the pace. Working fast and frequently for her return and a win candidate.

3rd pick: #10 (Vice Dancer) (5-1) - Heavily bet when debuting at Oaklawn on Feb. 14, she held to finish third after being involved in a pace-fight. Home-bred moves to a "poly" surface and should be involved every step.

4th pick: #6 (Distortion) (8-1) - She has some speed, runs third back from a six month break, and races on a "poly" surface for the first time. Longshot can factor in this rather inexperienced field.

5th pick: #4 (Sky Girl) (5-1) - Debuting daughter of "Sky Mesa" cost $150K and has been working fast for some time now. Capable barn (Paul McGhee) and she's a threat if ready.
