Top pick: #1 (SMITTENWITHKITTEN) (2-1) - Speedy filly will be cutting back in distance and dropping into a claimer for this attempt. Last out she opened up a big lead and weakened to finish fourth going a mile at Turfway Park facing special weights on March 30th. Her trainer (Mike Maker) has been on a long meet roll and has this Ramsey home-bred nicely spotted.
2nd pick: #11 (Big Brown Brookski) (10-1) - Debuting filly by "Derby" and "Preakness" winner "Big Brown" is in a winning Canadian-based barn (Reade Baker) and she had an impressive 3-furlong gate breeze here six days ago that should have her sent first out. Price play.
3rd pick: #5 (It's My Passion) (8-1) - Mare hasn't seen action for two years, but went (5-0-4-1) from the fall of 2010 until April of '11. Stalker has a new trainer (Greg Burchell) and he has her working steadily for her return. Major threat if ready.
4th pick: #3 (Naughty Nightie) (7-2) - Peachtree home-bred was away "slowly" and raced evenly once in stride when debuting in a turf sprint at Gulfstream on March 7th, facing special weights. Freshened up since then by trainer Dale Romans, he drops her into a claimer and switches her from grass to "poly."
