Top pick: #7 (MURPHY'S COVERT) (7-2) - He had a very poor post here on April 7th when racing at this tag and he ran evenly. Gelding may have need the race anyway as he hadn't seen action since winning on this surface in late October. In a top barn (Wesley Ward) and he can run these down late.
2nd pick: #9 (Stern) (12-1) - Not many by "Dynaformer" racing at this level and this speedy 6-year-old has a fine record on synthetic surfaces (5-1-2-1). Freshened up since March 9th, and in this rather paceless field, he's a threat at a square price.
3rd pick: #4 (Proud Jared) (5-1) - He was away slowly last out and raced evenly in his first start since Oct. 20th. Veteran has some back class and he would benefit greatly if the speed doesn't hold up turning for home.
4th pick: #8 (Spartan King) (9-2) - Grey gelding has been running evenly for some time now, but comes off a solid third-place finish here at this tag on April 7th. A bit on the cheap side, he's capable with his best.
