Top pick: #7 (WHAT'S A YAT) (3-1) - Colt debuts off of some fine works at Churchill, including a near bullet half-mile gate breeze on July 18th. Trainer Merrill Scherer is much better than his 2013 record, and is capable first out (17%).
2nd pick: #4 (Tachi) (5-1) - Another that's been prepared at Churchill, and colt is in a very good barn (Donnie Von Hemel). His latest work is his best, and veteran Jon Court is aboard.
3rd pick: #2 (Thurman) (3-1) - Gelding is part of a Barn McBride trained entry, and she has the same rider listed on both halves. Working fine, and he had a bullet three furlong gate breeze here on July 10th.
4th pick: #1 (Dynamite Stick) (5-1) - Trainer Mike Laurer is having a strong meet, and has already scored with several 2yos at this meet. Nicely bred, draws well, but Laurer is zero for his last 34 with "firsters," and seems to point towards their second starts.
