Top pick: #8 (TAPPIN'BLUES) (4-1) - He gets the call in what looks like a two-horse race on paper. From one of the best barns in the country (Mike Maker) he drops him down and stretches him out in his second back from a half-year's absence. Home-bred has a trio of solid works at Turfway Park for this attempt and his best start ever came at this distance in his 2012 finale.
nd pick: #10 (Big Time Rich) (9-5) - The probable favorite, "Rich" stretches out off a pair of solid sprint effort on this surface. Stalker is well-bred, draws a nice post for his style, and is the main contender for "Tappin."
rd pick: #4 (Istan's Fury) (10-1) - Gelding tired badly here facing tougher May 7th in his first race since Oct. 16. "Plodding" type could impact with a minor award at a nice price.
th pick: #6 (Shiney) (8-1) - Gelding raced evenly sprinting here at this level May 14th in his first back from a seven month layoff. Barn brings him back quickly and will sttretch him out for his second off the long break. In his final start of 2012, he ran a career best when finishing second at this distance.
th pick: #2 (Ideally) (30-1) - He's shown little to date, but took some money last fall in several starts facing tougher and raced evenly here at this tag on May 4th in his first since late Oct. He has a new trainer (Barb McBride) and she stretches him out in distance and has him race without blinkers for the first time. A small share is possible at a ver big price.
