Top pick: #6 (SOLO PERFORMANCE) - Finished a strong third last out against better, and race was on this surface. Drops down off of it and goes an extra 1/2 furlong tonight. Working fast since his latest and he's the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #7 (Troubltimesthree) - He's run well in his first pair and they both came at this tag at Santa Anita. Good positional speed last out and he rallied strongly for the place. Major danger.
3rd pick: #10 (Valentine Vow) - Returns from a 2 1/2 month layoff for trainer Ron McNally. Lack of speed has been evident in his starts, but he's been working in fine fashion for the past 40 days and should be dead-fit off those drills.
4th pick: #3 (To the Penny) - Drops in half and has been working every few days for the past month. He was beaten by about four lengths by the top pick last August at Del Mar. Figures to show whatever he has today.
