(# 2) THUNDER MESA - This is not a very strong field on paper. Thunder Mesa has been fed a steady diet of sprints at this maiden claiming level for quite some time. Results have been a mixed bag of performances with I believe the last two to be the best on view. Trainer Frank Kirby adds blinkers for this and maybe he's been waiting for the slight improvement that horse has exhibited lately. Trainer is almost 25% when stretching his stock out off of two or more sprints.

(# 7) Witch's Gold - The horse to fear off of big drop in class and sharp speed shown in his races. Concerned that there is only one work on view in almost two months. If he is fit and ready will be tough to beat.

(# 5) El Gran David - Canadian invader has yet to crack exacta in 13 tries. Hard to believe, but in those 13 races between artificial surfaces and off tracks has only competed once on a fast dirt track. Has a pretty good closing kick compared to most in here.

(# 9) Bonniebrook - Has no speed and a bad post. May pass a few on experience angle.
