Top pick: #3 (TALLY STICK) (9-5) - Beautifully-bred colt didn't pan out for his breeder (the world famous Darley Stable), and was sold privately late in 2012 and was relocated from England to British Columbia. Gelding by "Street Cry" has fine early speed, and looks all set for his maiden win in his third back from a eight month layoff.
2nd pick: #2 (Car Talk) (5-2) - He's also nicely bred ("Bernardini), and has finished close up in two of his last three starts while checking-in third in that pair. He breaks just off the rail and is a late threat.
3rd pick: #7 (Fourteenforty) (9-2) - He has displayed good early speed in two of his three appearances and wasn't beaten much in either. Lightly raced, he's improving, has room for upside, and he should be involved turning for home.
4th pick: #5 (Ottoman) (10-1) - This is start #14, so what you see is what you get. One paced 'grinder" has been competitive in six straight and is capable of grabbing a share, but a win seems to be a bit of a stretch.
