Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #9 (SOCIAL PARANOIA) (3-1) - This colt is one of two entered by Todd Pletcher, and the pair race as separate betting interests. 4yo by 'Street Boss' has gone 9-3-2-3 on the grass and rallied from far back to the local Appleton Stakes (G3) while going a mile March 28. A career-best, it was his first since winning a stakes race at Kentucky Downs Sept. 8, and I give him a slight edge over his barn-mate today.
2nd pick: #6 (Halladay) (7-2) - The second of the Pletcher trained colts, he's 9-4-2-2 on the grass and is 4-1-0-2 in stakes. He has a speed/stalking style, is in career-best form, and I could have easily made him the top selection. This 4yo grey colt by 'War Front' completes a very strong hand from the 'Hall of Fame' conditioners barn.
3rd pick: #11 (Admission Office) (5-2) - No speed type has been freshened up since rallying from far back to finish 2nd here going 11 furlongs in a G2 stakes Feb. 29. He has a fine series of works showing for his return, but his outside post and lack of speed hurt his chances. A fast and/or contested pace is needed by him for any shot at winning this.
