Top pick: #4 (AUNTIE MARTHA) (5-2) - "Martha" has just failed in two straight at this meet, the latest coming when she rallied while very wide to miss by a 1/2 length facing entry-level allowance foes going a mile Feb. 17th. In her previous effort on Jan. 12th, she was beaten just under a length racing at this level. The extra 1/16th she travels today is in her favor, but make sure you reverse your exactas.
2nd pick: #3 (Why Katherine) (7-2) - She has more speed than most entered, and last out was only a "neck" back of "Martha" in her first start in 5 1/2 months. Canadian-bred has worked fine since, and is a win candidate with "Johnny V" getting aboard (he's two for two on her).
3rd pick: #1 (Win for Kitten) (4-1) - The field's strongest finisher, she's gone 3-1-1-1 at this meet, and has been razor sharp in all three. Daughter of "Kitten's Joy" has had the 10-post in each of those, and today moves to the rail. Win candidate.
4th pick: #8 (Minx) (6-1) - Her post hurts a bit as she doesn't have much early speed. Lightly raced and well-bred, daughter of "Tapit" broke her maiden here Dec. 28th, then raced wide and evenly at this level on Feb. 2nd in her first facing winners. Working fine since, and the faster the pace, the better her chances.
