Top pick: #1 (SIR ALFRED) (2-1) - Colt is one of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher and the pair race uncoupled. He's finished second in both starts at this meet and is stretching out a bit in distance. Has the rail, speed/stalker is working fast, and has apprentice Cancel aboard. New arrival to the jockey colony has impressed with winning with two of his first five mounts here.
nd pick: #3 (Money Changer) (4-1) - The second of the Pletcher pair, he's racing for the first time since Sept. 12 at Belmont Park. Competitive in all three starts last year, he returns as a new gelding and with some sharp looking am drills.
rd pick: #10 (Sea Storm) (12-1) - He's stretching out in distance, trying conventional dirt, and making back-to-back starts for the first time. Sam-Son Farms home bred has early speed and was well backed in his first two appearances. Dangerous at a square price.
th pick: #6 (Flashy Jewel) (15-1) - Grey colt showed nothing here on Feb. 7 after acting up in the Post Parade and at the gate. He had been competitive in his first pair and will be racing with blinkers on.
th pick: #5 (Victory is Swet) (10-1) - Debuting colt has nine published drills at Palm Meadows since Jan. 12. Most of the works are above average and this son of "Congrats" looks set to be competitive first out.
