Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (EVE OF WAR) (7-5) - She may have been the most impressive debuting maiden winner at the meet. Homebred scored by 7.5 lengths in wire-to-wire style going 6 furlongs Feb. 2 and stopped the clock in a solid 1:11 flat while never asked to do much during the stretch run. In the Pletcher barn. he has her taking the next logical step and this 3yo may have a very bright future.
2nd pick: #6 (Fashion Babe) (6-1) - Homebred broke her maiden by 2.5 lengths here at this distance Feb 9 in her 5th start after being competitive in her first four. Daughter of 'Curlin' has a stalking gear and that could lead to a comfortable trip and a board finish.
3rd pick: #5 (Alandra) (9-2) - She won her debut at Saratoga going 7 furlongs in good time 1:23.20, then rallied to finish a distant third in Keeneland's Alcibiades Stakes (G1) 5 weeks later. In her seasonal finale at Aqueduct in the G2 Demoisele Dec. 7, she dis not fire and has been on the sidelines since. Working steadily at Payson Park she could factor as she cuts back in distance.
4th pick: #1 (We Miss Susie) (6-1) - Filly has been much improved since blinkers were added in early Nov. She's won two of three since and finished a solid third in her only loss. She has a ground-saving post and trainer Jane Cibelli is having a superb meet 56-12-7-5 (21%). Filly is capable of getting a share at a square price.
