2nd pick: #3 (We Take Checks) (9-2) - Colt chased and finished evenly when debuting here facing tougher in a five-furlong grass sprint Jan. 18. Trainer George Navarro (29% second out) drops him down while stretching him out in distance.
3rd pick: #5 (Tenkoz) (10-1) - Colt by 'Malibu Moon' cost $525,000, and can be had today for $20K. That said, he showed some improvement last out and drops 10lbs with apprentice Gutierrez riding. Think he's a threat at a big price.
4th pick: #6 (Gran Network) (12-1) - On the sidelines for the past three months, he finished 2nd facing weaker the last time he raced. Training steadily for his return, a capable barn (Vic Barboza) moves him up in class, and colt may grab a share at long odds if ready.
5th pick: #7 (Rider of the Blue) (15-1) - He's shown little in a pair on the grass, but runs today fresh off a Marc Vitali claim. Trainer improves just about everything, and this gelding by 'Uncle Mo' sold for $200,000 back in July of 2016.
