Top pick: #2 (WILD PROMISES) - Fast and talented mare has carved out a fine turf career (11-9-1-1) and has done so by using her sharp speed and stalking ability to win her last five in a row (all stakes). Likes her races well spaced, and after a win in the "My Charmer" at Calder on Dec. 6, she's had almost 50 days of rest since. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Zee Zee) - Talented filly is a stakes winner on the "weeds" and has also placed in many others. She'll make her first start for Richard Dutrow off a three-month break after being with Bill Mott her whole career. Trainer is an amazing 31% with his new stock. The main danger.
3rd pick: #8 (Bel Air Sizzle) - California shipper by "Unusual Heat" has no speed, but has rallied strongly to finish on the board in several important stakes on the west-coast. There are a few entered here with little or no chance and she is the field's best late runner. Needs to stay within 10-12 lengths as they approach the half for a legitimate shot.
