Top pick: #8 (BROAD RIVER) - He ran a solid second on Feb. 28 in his first start off a Mike Maker claim. Speed/stalker showed a lot of "grit" that day and the improvement from the new trainer was evident. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Rogue Victory) - He drops back into an allowance after a wide trip in a stakes last out. He won on this course with a strong rally on Jan. 7 and there's lots of speed for him to run at today.
3rd pick: #2 (Flying Dismount) - He had some promise at one time and nearly won a stakes on this course last winter. He's not been competitive since and will be returning today from a long layoff for a trainer (Chris Clement) who is strong in that department.
