He came back with a bullet 3 furlong breeze at the Palm Meadows Center March 13 and his trainer (Jimmy Jerkens) has been hot here the past two weeks.
2nd pick: #2 (Scrapper) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, colt just missed (a 1/2 lengths) when debuting here going 5 furlongs June 1. Working fast for his return, trainer Todd Pletcher (34% second time out) adds blinkers (28%) and he wins at a 33% rate off of long layoffs.
3rd pick: #1 (Central Command) (3-1) - Debuting colt sold for $575,000 as a yearling back in Sept. of 2016. Son of the speedy 'Into Mischief' is working fast at the Palm Meadows Center for trainer Chad Brown (17% first out). It's noted that Javier Castellano, who had other options take the mount. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #4 (First Commander) (4-1) - Godolphin home bred has been in steady training at Palm Meadows since Dec. 16. Son of 'Medaglia d'Oro' breezed a bullet 5 furlongs from the gate there Feb. 23 and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin has Irad Ortiz Jr aboard. The pair has won at a solid 26% rate when teamed up over the past 14.5 months.
