Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (RAG TAG) (8-5) - Colt from the barn of Todd Pletcher has finished second in both starts and they came 10 months apart. A $130,000 son of 'Union Rags', he finished second debuting in a 4.5 furlong sprint at Keeneland April 18 and did so here at this level and distance on a sloppy surface Feb. 15. He's worked fast twice since then at the Palm Beach Downs Center and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Extraordinary) (7-2) - This $750,000 son of 'Speightstown' was bumped at the break and had a wide trip when finishing 4th of 8, beaten 9.5 lengths when debuting at this level in a two-turn contest at Tampa Bay Downs Feb. 8. He's worked twice for the capable Rodolphe Brisset and this colt is cutting back to a one-turn mile. Dangerous today.
3rd pick: #5 (Niles Channel) (5-1) - He's one of two entered by Dale Romans and the pair race as separate betting interests. Colt moves back up in class after finishing second here at this distance for a $50,000 claiming tag Feb. 6. It was a nice move forward off his sprint debut Jan 11 and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #4 (Cornbread Kingdom) (9-2) - The second of the Romans trained pair, he's been idle since rallying to finish 4th of 12, missing by 4 lengths debuting at this level going 6 furlongs at Churchill Downs on a sloppy track Nov. 30. He has a fine series of works on view and this son of 'Uncle Mo' can factor if ready off the 3.5-month layoff.
