Top pick: #9 (UNBRIDLED FIRE) - Grey son of "Latent Heat" had some trouble at the start when debuting here on Jan. 29, but quickly recovered and held to finish second after rushing-up to contest the pace. Excellent effort and he's come back with a pair of sharp works since. Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin wins at a 30% rate second time out and this 3-year-old gets a slight edge in a competitive contest.
2nd pick: #3 (Spin Out) - Heavily bet in his debut, this $250K colt from the first crop of "Hard Spun" chased a fast pace and held until the last 1/16th when he weakened slightly. Trainer Nick Zito is always better second time out and this colt came back on Feb. 16 with a nice work.
3rd pick: #2 (Trend Setter) - Away slowly in his debut, he rushed up to chase the pace and held gamely to finish third, 1 1 2/ lengths back of today's rival "Unbridled Fire". Blinkers go on for this and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #8 (Arm Force) - Son of the mighty "Tiznow" chased while wide in his debut and tired during the stretch run of a race dominated by the first two finishers. Working fast since, presumably with the blinkers on that he'll wear today.
