Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (WONDER IN) (3-1) - He's switching back to the dirt after rallying to finish third here going 5 furlongs on the grass for a $30K price tag Feb. 5. It was his first off a Dave Fawkes claim and this 4yo has been competitive in all three previous attempts on the main track. Castellano stays aboard and I give this gelding a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Mintz) (5-2) - A very lightly raced 5yo by 'Candy Ride' , he's been on the sidelines since May 23. He broke his maiden at this distance facing special weights at Aqueduct 13.5 months ago, and was competitive in his pair of follow ps on the dirt. His last before the layoff saw him eased on the grass, but he probably was injured which prompted the long layoff. A strong win candidate if ready.
3rd pick: #1 (Atthepearlygates) (7-2) - He finished a pace-setting second here at this tag and trip Jan. 30, but he only faced 4 rivals and this group is much tougher. That said, he has early speed, the rail, and must be left in the mix.
