Top pick: #2 (CALISTOGA) (7-5) - Lightly-raced filly by "Speightstown" has been on the sidelines since finishing a wide and close up fourth in the "8 Belles" stakes (G3) on May 3rd at Churchill on the "Derby" undercard. Working fast and the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Magic Mesa) (4-1) - One of two entered by trainer Patty Farro and the pair race uncoupled. Veteran mare has more wins (5) than any other entered and scored here facing weaker in an "off the turf" contest on Jan. 31. In shape and speed/stalker should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #5 (Sky Skier) (6-1) - Lightly raced, she was an impressive winner here going a mile on Dec. 22. Home-bred by "Sky Mesa" has gone 5-2-3-0 to date and has room for upside.
4th pick: #7 (Salamera) - Stakes winner as a 2-year-old in 2012, she's racing third back off a long layoff (12 1/2 months) and has raced evenly while checking-in third in her first pair back. The additional furlong she travels today is in her favor.
