Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (ASTOUNDMENT) (9-2) - Debuting filly by 'Kitten's Joy' is from a very good turf barn (Jim Toner), and he has John Velazquez aboard. This filly was originally prepped at Belmont, but has breezed three times at the Palm Meadows Center since shipping south. Her latest work was a sharp half-mile from the gate, and I think she looks ready first out.
2nd pick: #8 (Coilean Bawn) (8-1) - She is one of two entered by trainer Chris Clement, and the pair race uncoupled. $375K filly by 'Pioneer of the Nile' tired sprinting on the dirt going seven furlongs at Aqueduct Nov. 30. Clement wins at a 22% rate second time out and at a 23% clip on the dirt-to-turf move.
3rd pick: #2 (Silver Kitten) (12-1) - Blinkers go on this daughter of 'Kitten's Joy,' who was away slowly while never involved when debuting Oct. 20 at Keeneland. She's worked three times at Palm Meadows, and trainer Dan Gargan (25% second time out) has Luis Saez aboard this longshot.
4th pick: #9 (Delta's Kingdom) (15-1) - She tired badly when debuting at a mile in an 'off the turf' contest Nov. 16 at Aqueduct. She's breezed twice on the turf course at Payson Park and is in the barn of 'Hall of Famer' Bill Mott.
