Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (FAST BOAT) (7-2) - Colt moves way up in class in his first facing winners. He ran into a very talented horse ('Analyze It') when debuting at Belmont Oct. 28. To his credit he stayed on to finish third that afternoon and was sent here soon after. Home bred by 'City Zip' had Lasix added Dec. 8 and he was a very impressive winner going 7.5 furlongs. He's worked three times since on the deep surface at Payson Park including a bullet 3 furlong breeze Jan. 4. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Flameaway) (5-2) - Speedy son of 'Scat Daddy' ran well in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) Nov. 3 at Del Mar. He pressed a fast pace from a tough outside post and was only beaten just over 3 lengths. It was his first ever on the grass and he's a serious win candidate from his inside post.
3rd pick: #2 (Mojovation) (8-1) - Colt finished an even fourth here sprinting 6 furlongs on a sloppy surface in the Buffalo Man Stakes Dec. 9. Trainer Todd Pletcher moves him to the grass and has him racing around two-turns for the first time. John Velazquez stays aboard and you get he and Pletcher at a square price in this spot.
4th pick: #3 (Power of Attorney) (7-2) - Stonestreet home bred was a gate-to-wire winner going a mile on the Aqueduct grass Nov. 30. It was his first on the turf and a huge improvement off his dirt debut eight weeks earlier.
