Top pick: #11 (YOU LUCKIE MANN) - Fast and lightly race runner from the barn of Marty Wolfson. He won a stakes at Calder in October in one of the most impressive races by a two-year-old in many years. Freshened-up after that win, he returned in the "Spectacular Bid" on opening day and ran as well as he could, but "Notonthesamepage" was just too much. He's "primed" today for a big race second off the layoff, and he's the horse to catch and beat.
2nd pick: #1 (Southern Exchange) - Working well for his first start on real dirt. Colt won his first three in Canada, then was sent to California where he finished close-up in the Del Mar futurity. Well beaten in his last back at Woodbine going long, he returns today in a sprint. Factor if he handles the footing.
3rd pick: #9 (This Ones For Phil) - Runner will make his first start today for trainer Richard Dutrow. New man sends him from the turf to the dirt and shortens him up in distance. He finished just under four lengths behind the top pick in his only previous try at six furlongs. Training in solid fsahion, he's an exotic's player.
