Bet heavily that day, she rated early, made a strong bid when asked, and drew off to win by three lengths. Trainer Chad Brown has worked her four times since and she may be a talented one.
2nd pick: #3 (Resilient One) (3-1) - Daughter of "Hard Spun" has been on the sidelines since breaking her maiden in sharp style here Dec. 21. Strong finisher is in the Pletcher barn and has worked five times since her first win. Stretch threat and a win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (My Sweet Girl) (10-1) - Well bred filly has good positional speed and is trying a two-turn distance and racing on the grass, both for the first time. She's in shape and is daughter of "Bernardini" should handle the new surface.
4th pick: #5 (Whimsicality) (8-1) - Another trying the grass for the first time. She ships back from Tampa where she tired in a dirt stakes Jan. 31. Home bred is in a very good turf barn (Graham Motion) and he adds Lasix for this attempt.
5th pick: #8 (Nicky's Brown Miss) (8-1) - She won a rich grass stakes last fall at Kentucky Downs and broke her maiden in the process. She's been competitive a number of times since then in stakes contests and has finished second in two of there on this course.
