2nd pick: #1 (Dance Rhythms) (5-2) - On the shelf since Nov. 12, filly has been racing evenly facing tougher at Churchill Downs. She breezed an above average half-mile here Jan. 7, drops to a new low, has the rail, and leading rider Luis Saez is aboard.
3rd pick: #5 (Copan) (6-1) - One of three fillies making their debut, she has some very sharp local works on view and trainer Leo Aspurua Jr. has Javier Castellano signed on. She's dangerous if she repeats her a.m. times in 'live' action.
4th pick: #3 (Golden Vale) (5-1) - She's dropping into a claimer while racing on the dirt, both for the first time. Three-year-old has shown early speed in a pair of turf starts facing tougher and trainer Barclay Tag who is 3-for-7 (43%) at the meet has Jose Ortiz aloft. The pair won with 5-of-9 (56%) when teamed up during 2017.
