Top pick: #9 (DISCREET DANCER) - He was reported to be a runner before his debut and didn't disappoint anyone who bet on him that afternoon. Home-bred by "Discreet Cat" was heavily bet and won by almost 10 lengths on this surface on opening day (Dec. 3). Has a nice work since, draws a great outside post at this "flat" mile trip, and we'll find out a lot more about his talent level today. The top pick, he's one of two entered by trainer Todd Pletcher and the pair will race uncoupled.
2nd pick: #4 (One Sock Down) - He's another that was bet heavily when debuting here Dec. 8. Colt rated just off the lead, responded when asked, and won by just over 3 lengths in 1:10 flat for the 6 furlongs.
3rd pick: #6 (Da Vinci) - The second of the Pletcher duo cost a cool $600,000 and colt by "A P Indy" rallied to break his maiden at Calder at this mile trip going two-turns on Nov. 26. He has four published drills at Palm Meadows for this and is a threat down the stretch.
4th pick: #7 (A Boy Named Em) - He was ignored at the windows when debuting at Churchill in late Nov. but rallied from far back on a sloppy track to win "going away". In a very good barn (Ed Kenneally) and gelding by "Point Given" is working fast at Palm Meadows for this attempt.
