Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (R MAN JOE) (3-1) - He was involved every step when missing by just under a length debuting here at this level and distance in a contest that was taken 'off the turf' Jan. 24. Back on a quick turnaround, trainer Georgina Baxter 24-6-4-5 (24%) at the meet has Jose Ortiz aboard for this attempt.
2nd pick: #2 (The Virginian) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he checked in third of 12, missing by 2 lengths here at this level and distance Jan. 18. Only his second start, it was his first on the grass and first since debuting Oct. 26. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Souper Watson) (7-2) - Live Oak home bred showed some ability in a pair of sprints on the all weather surface at Woodbine last year. Training fast on the grass course at Palm Meadows, he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #6 (Mr Nappy) (8-1) - Gelding ran second here at this level and distance Dec. 19 in his first start in 4.5 months and first on the grass. In his follow up Jan 18, he raced evenly from a tough outside post (10 of 12). He's worked since draws better and is capable of factoring at a square price.
