Son of the speedy 'Big Drama' has a half-dozen published works since late December at the Palm Meadows center. Brown has Javier Castellano aboard and the pair has won with 64 of 214 (30%) when teamed up over the past 13 1/2 months.
2nd pick: #6 (Mr Smith) (4-1) - He finished second of 13, beaten 5-lengths when racing here at this level and distance Dec 30. In his follow up start Jan 29, he checked in an even fourth facing $75,000 'open' maidens going seven furlongs. Trainer Ed Plesa Jr. has him back in with fellow Florida breds and is cutting him back a furlong.
3rd pick: #1 (Unintimidated) (3-1) - Another of the trio making their first start, he's also by G1 winner 'Big Drama.' Working fast locally, he has the rail and his a.m. drills indicate he has ability.
4th pick: #2 (First Mellon) (12-1) - Longshot tired after racing within range when debuting here at this level going a mile on the grass Jan 14. Capable small barn (Michelle Nihei) moves him to the dirt and shortens him up in distance. May grab a share at a big price.
