It was her first since Oct 23 when she missed by a 1/2 length racing at this level going a mile on the grass. Trainer Ralph Nicks has worked her four times for this attempt and drops her back down in class.
2nd pick: #1 (My Music) (8-1) - $120,000 daughter of 'Mineshaft' tired when debuting here going a mile on the dirt facing special weights Dec 17. Trainer Mike Matz drops her down in class, switches her from dirt to grass, and is adding Lasix. Look for a much improved second start from her inside post.
3rd pick: #2 (Annie O'Schiller) (7-2) - One of two fillies making their debuts, home bred is by grass champ 'Artie Schiller.' In a top turf barn (Chris Clement), he's given her the usual Clement regimen of short works over on the deep surface at Payson Park. Trainer is capable of having one win first out.
4th pick: #4 (Tizjet) (6-1) - Her form has regressed in her last pair after being much sharper during the fall. Stalker is dropping to a new low and enters off a bullet three furlong breeze just three days ago.
5th pick: #7 (Arthemisa) (20-1) - Daughter of 'Broken Vow' chased and tired here at this tag Jan 2. She had to break from a killer post (14th of 14) and the overall effort was positive. She draws better and her early speed should have her in this most of the way at a big price.
