2nd pick: #5 (Black Pepper) (5-1) - He raced evenly when finishing a distant third when debuting here facing 'open' company going 6 furlongs Dec. 13. Trainer Joe Orseno brings him back quickly, has him in with state breds, and Javier Castellano is aboard for this attempt.
3rd pick: #8 (Time in Motion) (2-1) - Son of 'Uncle Mo' sold for $650,000 as a Saratoga Yearling back in Aug. of 2016. Training mostly off site, he makes his debut for trainer Mark Casse (17% first out).
4th pick: #9 (Elk Camp) (12-1) - This son of 'City Zip' sold for $240,000 as a 2-year-old in training this past May. He's had excuses in his first pair and trainer Todd Pletcher is adding both blinkers and John Velazquez for this assignment. May grab a minor award at a square price.
