Top pick: #2 (PATH DEPENDENT) (9-2) - Freshened up since Sept. 13, he missed by a nose when debuting in a grass sprint at Saratoga on Aug. 8. Gelding raced wide while pressing the pace in his follow up start and tired down the stretch. He had a tough outside post that afternoon and draws much better for this attempt. He gets the slightest of edges over #12 "Battle Cry."
2nd pick: #12 (Battle Red) (8-5) - $270K son of "Kitten's Joy" has by far the best form of these and has trained well since shipping down from New York. The probable heavy favorite, the only negative is his outside post. The likely winner if he can avoid a wide trip.
3rd pick: #1 (Mr Money Pants) (15-1) - Longshot has the rail and ran well in one of two grass races at Saratoga. In a good barn (Wayne Catalano) and this colt by "Sarava" may grab a share at a big price.
4th pick: #3 (Honors) (20-1) - Lightly-raced, he has a bit of speed and enters off a "troubled" trip in a grass sprint Nov. 26. He's worked since, is stretching out in distance, and is making back-to-back starts for the first time.
5th pick: #5 (Totzke) (20-1) - Colt has some fine works showing for his first since an early June debut at Woodbine. In a capable Canadian based barn (Josie Carroll) and this son of "Ready's Image" is bred to enjoy the turf.
