Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (SHAMROCKET) (2-1) - He had a very wide trip from an outside post (10 of 11) before rallying to check in 3rd, missing by just over a length going a mile facing 'open' company. Back in with state-breds and traveling an additional 1/2 furlong, he gets top billing.
2nd pick: #4 (Venezuelan Hug) (3-1) - This colt is another who had a very trip when finishing 3rd going a mile facing 'open' company for a $40K tag March 25. Claimed that day by Danny Gargan, he's won with nine of 18 (50%) following the barn change, and this lightly raced 3yo enters off a bullet half-mile work on the Palm Meadows grass course April 13. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Mystery Bank) (4-1) - I liked him last out, but he had problems at the break which cost him valuable positioning. He did rally to finish a non-threatening 3rd and is a serious player with a trouble-free beginning.
4th pick: #6 (Souper Watson) (6-1) - Home-bred races as a NEW gelding and is another who had traffic issues at the break last out. Grey 3yo by 'Ghostzapper' has shown some ability and is capable of getting a slice at a square price.
