Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (SEIZE THE HAY) (7-2) - Colt rallied while wide to finish 2nd when debuting here at this level going nine furlongs March 7. Trainer Todd Pletcher has won with 30 of 132 (23%) second-time starters since Jan. 1 of 2019, and he's worked this colt three times March 28. He didn't show a lot of speed first out, and the cut-back in distance to a mile is not a plus, but he's the top pick. Make sure you box your wagers in this contest.
2nd pick: #6 (Turn of Events) (6-1) - Colt had a wide trip when finishing 4th of 12, missing by 3.5 lengths while going 8.5 furlongs March 27. It was his first in blinkers, and this son of 'Hard Spun' draws a better post than he drew last out. I think he can factor at a square price.
3rd pick: #1 (Freedom's Flight) (5-1) - He finished 4th of 11, missing by just over three lengths here at this level and distance March 27. It was his first start in a bit over four months, and he had an outside post and traffic issues at a crucial point. 4yo moves to the rail, and veteran Joe Bravo replaces the recently injured Paco Lopez. In the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Holy Emperor) (9-2) - Beautifully bred colt is lightly raced and is making his second straight start on the grass. Son of 'Street Sense' tired last out to finish 3rd March 7, a contest where he was a bit over two lengths behind 'Seize the Hay.' In the very patient barn of Jimmy Jerkens, he should factor with just a bit of improvement.
