3rd pick: #6 (Reed Kan) (9-2) - Very fast from the gate, he was a gate-to-wire here at this distance Dec. 17 and defeated 'Bourbon Currency' that afternoon. It was by far a career best and his only start on the grass up to this point. He tired Jan. 6 in a sprint stakes on the dirt and moves back to the turf for this attempt. Dangerous today.
4th pick: #1 (Salmanazar) (6-1) - Very lightly-raced, he's the second of the pair from Todd Pletcher. Unraced since June 9, he's training fast at Palm Beach Downs, but is making his first start on the grass off the long layoff. $180K purchase may need a race before showing his best.
