Top pick: #8 (WEEKEND HIDEAWAY) (3-1) - He enters off a career best when he demolished a field here in the "Sunshine Million Sprint" going 6-furlongs Jan. 17. He ran the 6-furlongs in 1:08.60 and the figure earned was the highest any of these has ever reached. Working fast, he draws a great outside post and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Speechify) (4-1) - Very lightly-raced 5-year-old has been freshened up since winning a pair of sprint stakes late in 2014. He was an easy winner of the "Kenny Noe Jr. Stakes" at Gulfstream Park West (Formerly known as Calder) on Nov. 16, then ran a career best when taking the "Mr. Prospector" (G3) here on Dec. 27. He earned a big figure that afternoon and is working fast for this attempt.
3rd pick: #2 (C Zee) (5-1) - Veteran sprinter loves it here at Gulfstream 7-3-3-0. Strong finisher would love a bit more distance but still is a stretch threat.
4th pick: #5 (Mean Season) (5-2) - Undefeated (3 for 3) and untested to this point. He's gone wire-to-wire in all three facing easier and is racing for the first time since last March 1. Tough call, he gives away a big recency edge to the top three selections.
