Top pick: #5 (NOT WELCOME) (8-5) - The probable favorite, lightly raced 5yo has gone 3-1-2-0 since being claimed for this $6,250 price tag in late Feb. Speed/stalker missed by a 'nose' here at this level and distance June 20 and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #9 (General Sham'mah) (2-1) - The main danger, he's dropping to a new low in class and stretching out a furlong. 4yo has been competitive at this distance in the past and one run type draws a great outside post for this one-turn mile trip. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Sneaky Kitten) (10-1) - Veteran is taking a big drop in class, switching from turf to dirt, and stretching back out in distance. If the race was on the grass he would win this at short odds. However, the surface switch means he's a 'mystery' combatant.
4th pick: #2 (Flash Heart) (15-1) - 4yo showed little in his local debut July 3. He had gone 21-2-7-3 over the past 18 months in the mid-Atlantic region and can grab a share with his best.
