Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (Jeweled Princess) (3-1) - Strong finisher rallied to check in 2nd of 12, missing by 1.5 lengths at this level and distance on a sloppy surface Nov. 30 at Churchill Downs. It's noted that the the filly who was a distant 3rd broke her maiden at the Fair Grounds next out, and today this $160K purchase has leading rider Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard.
2nd pick: #8 (Loaded) (7-2) - A $250K daughter of 'Ghostzapper,' she was a length in front of 'Jeweled Princess' Nov. 7 at Churchill Downs. It was her second straight 2nd place finish, and she has a fine series of works at the Palm Meadows Center for this attempt. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Spice Is Nice) (4-1) - This daughter of 'Curlin' sold for $1,050,000 as a yearling back in Sept. of 2018 at Keeneland. Brought along patiently for her debut by Todd Pletcher (23% first out), most of her drills are well above average. John Velazquez is aloft.
4th pick: #5 (Etana) (8-1) - She won a mile race at Laurel Nov. 8, but was disqualified and placed 2nd. In her follow up Dec. 12 at Belmont, she raced evenly while not factoring. One run type may get a minor award, but a win at this point would be a surprise.
