Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (CHAMPAGNE LADY) (6-1) - This filly by 'Uncle Mo' sold for $875,000 as a yearling back in Sept. of 2018. Bet heavily (3-5) debuting at Aqueduct when going six furlongs Dec. 22, she did not break cleanly, then had some traffic issues after recovering. She would eventually lose by 11.5 lengths in a contest where both the 2nd and 3rd place runners won their next starts. Working nicely locally, I think she'll show what she has today.
2nd pick: #2 (Teenage Kicks) (4-1) - She made up ground after a troubled break when debuting in a sprint (5.5 furlongs) Nov. 17 at Churchill, then finished 2nd here going six furlongs Dec. 22. She has a ground saving post, and this home bred by 'Into Mischief' is dangerous.
3rd pick: #5 (Eve of War) (4-1) - Debuting filly is from the barn of Todd Pletcher, 34 of 150 (23%) since Jan. 1 of 2019. Home bred has a fine series of works at Palm Meadows, and John Velazquez is aboard.
4th pick: #9 (Genealogist) (8-1) - Working fast for her debut, she draws a tough post and is from a barn (Ken McPeek) not known for first out success (5%). She may be a rare exception.
