Top pick: #7 (SEA STORM) (7-2) - Colt set a fast pace and held gamely to miss by less than a length when debuting at this level on the Woodbine 'poly' Nov. 15th. Freshened up since, trainer Malcolm Pierce (29% second time out) adds Lasix, and switches him to the turf. Bred for the surface, he has John Velazquez aboard.
2nd pick: #4 (Allstar Dancer) (10-1) - This Canadian based runner made his debut in the same Nov. 15th race at Woodbine as 'Sea Storm.' Bet down to 2-1 favoritism, he raced evenly after a troubled start. Colt also ran erratically for most of the contest. Capable barn (Josie Carroll) adds lasix and almost all horses by 'City Zip' handle the grass. Price play.
3rd pick: #6 (Wildwood Days) (6-1) - He's one of a half-dozen that are making their debuts in this grass sprint. Augustin home bred has several quick works showing among others of the stamina building type. It's 'Hall of Famer' Jonathan Sheppard calling the shots, and this gelding is bred to have ability.
4th pick: #2 (Rhythm Park) (20-1) - He switches to the grass and is shortening up in distance. Colt was bumped at the start and raced very wide just nine days ago. Bred for the grass, he finished second when debuting in a dirt sprint at Ellis Park in early July. Can factor at a big price.
