Top pick: #10 (SAYAAD) (5-1) - Colt by "Street Sense" cost a hefty $450,000 and has been freshened up since Sept. 23 when he broke his maiden at Belmont going 6 furlongs on the grass. Draws wide today, but has enough early speed to get a good spot racing thru the turn. Like his chances.
2nd pick: #2 (Rip Roarin Ritchie) (4-1) - He's one of two entered by trainer Wesley Ward and the pair race uncoupled. The fields only stakes winner, he captured the $61K "Tyro" at Monmouth Park at this distance on the grass Aug. 5. Freshened up for the past eight weeks, gelding is training very fast for this, and he's two for three at this trip.
3rd pick: #3 (Beach Master) (6-1) - Colt races first off a Jim DiVito claim and he brings him back in 12 days, switches him to the grass, and runs him with a raise in class. In fine dirt form and is dangerous if he can repeat it on the "lawn."
4th pick: #5 (Party Lad ) (10-1) - He's whistled on the front-end in two of his three appearances, once on the Woodbine "poly" and the other on the Penn National dirt. Ontario-bred races for a high-percentage outfit (Mike Pino) and is a threat at a square price.
